Wrong Decisions.

A young man of 32 had been appointed president of the bank. He'd never dreamed he'd be president, much less at such a young age. So he approached the venerable Chairman of the Board and said, "You know, I've just been appointed President. I was wondering if you could give me some advice."

The old man came back with just two words: "Right decisions!"

The young man had hoped for a bit more than this, so he said, "That's really helpful, and I appreciate it, but can you be more specific? How do I make right decisions?"

The wise old man simply responded, "Experience."

The young man said, "Well, that's just the point of my being here. I don't have the kind of experience I need. How do I get it?"

Came the terse reply, "Wrong decisions!"

Wouldn't it be great if we could make the write decisions all the time? Well unfortunately we don't. Decisions are something that we have to make everyday. Not a minute goes by that we do not make some kind of decision. Most decisions are small and simple to make, but there are decisions that we have to make that impact our lives or the life of someone else. These are the ones that are of a much importance. Especially the ones we make concerning our Christian lives. We know that living a Christian life is not an easy task, but we also know that Christ is there to help and guide us. This is what the Apostle Paul means in Php 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Paul makes this statement knowing that it was only through the help of Christ. I can assure you that before Paul made a decision he went to the Lord in prayer. And so should you and I.

But what happens when we do make a wrong decision? What does God expect? And how will God deal with us? First off God knows that we are not going to make the correct decisions every time. As a matter of fact He knows that we will make bad decisions! So how does God deal with this? Friend God does not expect any more out of us than a good parent would expect out of their children. We know they will not always make the best decisions. We know they will probably make a few bad ones, but we expect them to learn from their mistake. God Expects no more from us. This is part of the learning process. Just as in our story, this man knew that this young president would make bad decision, but he also knew that he would learn from them to make wiser decisions. This is what God hope to see from us. This is what we hope to see from our children. This is part of GRACE!

You see I can not do a lot about my past decision, but I can seek Gods help to make better future ones. Ps 31:3 For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.

Today we have to put our past mistakes behind us and learn from them. We have to look toward the future. This is what we read in  Php 3:13,14 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
