Sounding the warning

The passengers on a small plane are quite surprised when the pilots arrive. The pilots walk up the aisle, both wearing dark glasses. One has a seeing-eye dog; the other is tapping his way with a white-tipped cane.
The cockpit door closes, the engines start up. The plane moves faster and faster down the runway.
People by the windows realize they're heading right toward the water at the end of the runway. Panic ensues. Screams fill the air.
At that very moment, the plane lifts smoothly into the air. The passengers relax and laugh a little sheepishly at falling for such an obvious joke. Up in the cockpit, the co-pilot turns to the pilot. "Ya' know, Bob," he says. "One day they're going to scream too late, and we're all gonna die."

This of course is a story that obviously is not going to come true. (We hope anyway)  But the bible does tells us as Christians that we are to sound a warning for a lost and dying world. The bible describes it in many different ways, but one is as a watchman. For instance if we look in  Eze 33:2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman. Now of course this is an illustration, but it is intended to illustrate to the Christian that we are also watchman and the sword will be the disasters of dying having never been saved. Now notice what the watchman was responsible for. Eze 33:3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people. Ezekiel was to be a watchman and warn the people. This would be his responsibility. We are also responsible to spread the warning to those that are lost and without God. The bible is very clear to the fate of those that reject the Son of God. It is our job to spread this gospel. In the great commission Jesus say's, Mt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

Tho we are responsible to spread the gospel, we are not responsible for how treats it. Eze 33:4-5 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul. Saddly not all takes heed to this bible warning, but all we can do is tell them. But what does the bible tell us about not warning others? Eze 33:6-7 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand. So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

We have to remember that it is not just the preachers job to spread the gospel (or the warning), it is every born again believers job! Mt 22:9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. This is an illustration of the marriage of the Lamb, which is Salvation through Jesus Christ.

Church we need to be busy spreading the gospel, for there may not be much time left! Its time to sound the warning! 2Co 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) God bless you is our prayer.
