Lord here am I, send me.

A woman and her husband interrupted their vacation to go to a dentist. "I want a tooth pulled, and I don't want Novocain because I'm in a big hurry," the woman said. "Just extract the tooth as quickly as possible, and we'll be on our way." The dentist was quite impressed. "You're certainly a courageous woman," he said. "Which tooth is it?" The woman turned to her husband and said, "Show him your tooth, dear."

How often are we also as quick to volunteer others when it comes to doing the lords work. When there is a job to be done it is so easy to look at the other person, when all the while God may have a job for us. As a minister of many years, I have seen this quiet often. In this story the woman had no problem letting her husband go through the pain of having a tooth pulled without Novocain. But how would it have been if it had been her.

Today in our churches we have too much send that one or this one, and not enough Lord Send me! It was Joshua that said in Jos 14:12a Now therefore give me this mountain. It was David that wanted to fight the Giant. He did not try to find someone else to send. God wanted David to do it. 1Sa 17:32 And David said to Saul, Let no man's heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine. God tells us in Mt 20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen. Few are stepping up to the plate and saying, God send me I will go. I was Isaiah that said, Isa 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Friend if you would like to greatly bless your pastor, walk up to him and ask him what you could do. Or the next time there is a job that no one will do, volunteer for it. God needs more "Here am I; send me". The next time that God lays it on your heart to testify, do not wait for someone else; stand up and do it. When the alter call is given and you feel the need to go pray, do not wait for someone else to go; be the first because others may be waiting for the first to go.

I can remember myself years ago being in a service and God wanted me to go and pray, but I was waiting for someone else to make the move. No one was moving and God said to me, " You be the first". As I obeyed the Lord, others followed. The next time that God deals with your heart, do not wait for someone else to make the move. Say, "Lord here am I send me"
