Can God really do it today?

A boy was sitting on a park bench with one hand resting on an open Bible. He was loudly exclaiming his praise to God. "Hallelujah! Hallelujah! God is great!" he yelled without worrying whether anyone heard him or not. Shortly after, along came a man who had recently completed some studies at a local university. Feeling himself very enlightened in the ways of truth and very eager to show this enlightenment, he asked the boy about the source of his joy. "Hey" asked the boy in return with a bright laugh, "Don't you have any

idea what God is able to do? I just read that God opened up the waves of the Red Sea and led the whole nation of Israel right through the middle." The enlightened man laughed lightly, sat down next to the boy and began to try to open his eyes to the "realities" of the miracles of the Bible. "That can all be very easily explained. Modern scholarship has shown that the Red Sea in that area was only 10-inches deep at that time. It was no problem for the Israelites to wade across." The boy was stumped. His eyes wandered from the man back to the Bible laying open in his lap. The man, content that he had enlightened a poor, naive young person to the finer points of scientific insight, turned to go. Scarcely had he taken two steps when the boy began to rejoice and praise louder than before. The man turned to ask the reason for this resumed jubilation. "Wow!" exclaimed the boy happily, "God is greater than I thought! Not only did He lead the whole nation of Israel through the Red Sea, He topped it off by drowning the whole Egyptian army in 10-inches of water!"

It amazes me how that some try to disprove the miracles of the Bible. But thanks be to God that they can not do it! I am so thankful today that the bible is real. What a blessing it is to know that God can still do miracles in our lives today. I have had people say to me, " I have never seen a miracle". My answer is that they do not look for them. God works in our lives everyday. The greatest miracle that God ever did in my life is save me! This is truly a miracle in its self, to take a life that is messed up because of sin. To see what I was 17 years ago and what God has done for me today! My friend that is truly a miracle. I know people that have gone from alcoholics to working for the Lord with happy and blessed lives, that is a miracle. I know a family in Kentucky that their home was about to be torn apart in because of sin and unfaithfulness. Through the help of God, we got these folks saved and in church. This family is happy, loving, and so faithful to him. Yes God still works miracles! Can God still heal people? Yes he sure can. I saw my Grandmother break her hip three different times, each time the doctor would tell here that she would never walk. Her reply was, "You don't know my God". She walked all three times! I think that some of the problem with so much unbelief today is that we do not trust God as we should .Pr 3:5,6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. This is the key, acknowledge him. This means to look for him, believe in him, give him praise even for the little things, and glorify him for the big things! Look for him and you shall see his mighty hands at work around you. So many times things happen in our lives and we call it an Accident, or we call it luck. I call them blessing of God! The Bible is real, God is real, and Heaven is real. Are you ready?
